Zeiss Contax Forum for the classic Zeiss Contax I, II, III, IIa, IIIa , G series, and if you want to push it, the nice Contax point and shoots. Some spill over from the Kievs, the Soviet copy of the Contax II/III can also be expected. Plus the ONLY production camera ever made in classic Zeiss Contax Rangefinder mount WITH TTL metering ... the Voigtlander Bessa R2C.

Welcome to RFF

Pros:
Sharp as a tack, contrasty, a great buy, excellent value for only 2 or 3 hundred dollars.

Cons:
AF a little slow, noisy.

I have this lens and highly recommend it.

Sold my G2 set a while back (not because of the '90)

The 90 is an excellent lens, sharp and "Knacky" excellent Bouqet or however one might want to spell this.... I used mine quite a lot, one can get some good deals on 90 ties at this point in time, I would definately go for it.

(not specifically the 90 lens, this applies to all Contax G lenses, appart from the zoom one)

Excellent lens. Well made, takes nice looking pictures. Focuses to a single meter, and full face portraits are a simple thing. Wide open, the depth of field is only a cm or so, careful focusing is par for the course.

Otherwise, it's as striking as all the other lenses in the lineup.
