Less than a Week to Win a new M7 !

OK Folks,

If you want a free chance to win a new Leica M7 rangefinder with 50/2.8 Elmar, you have until July 27th to register at Uber. http://www.uber.com/m7

I am told the contest is open internationally so long as you put the contest's sponsor Chris Weeks as one of your Uber friends.

It would be great to see someone from RFF win this.
Good Luck!

Stephen

Ah. Still a week to go.

I was wondering why I hadn't received my camera yet.

Unfortunately it's US only - the small print says:

1. Eligibility: Leica M7 Sweepstakes (the “Sweepstakes”) is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia [...]
Void outside of the United States

Maybe there could be a non-US Cameraquest competition giving away some nice CV gear!

Chris said that people listing him as his Uber friend
(Uber terminology which you get after registering)
will make anyone eligible to win the M7.

I knew there'd be some crooked business to keep me from winning!

Thanks for the heads-up, Stephen. Just signed up -- It looks like an honest effort to get some sort of, well, uber-structure over all the other social and gallery spaces that people belong to. I've poked around it a bit now, though, and I felt a little lost when I kept finding the places I was supposed to link my Facebook and Flickr and YouTube pages, of which I have none.

Ah. Mr. Weeks.

Thank you, Stephen for letting us know, but I must say "no thanks". After past experiances (just search RFF) a M7 & an Elmar are nowhere near enough to get me to have anything to do with him.

Good luck & God's grace to whomever wins this prize.

William

I am pretty sure I have won this contest. So no one else needs to enter.

Given that the layout is so graphics-centered that it takes me about ten minutes to log in on the connection I have here, I am not sure whether Uber is the right thing for me. I've put in some content nevertheless, but it's not fun to use.

I could make good use of a new M7, but not sure it's worth putting up with Mr Weeks. Blocking him may not be a winning strategy. Good luck to the winner...

Well, I don't really like him as a person from what limited contact I've had with him so far over the Internet. Maybe he's different if you meet him for a coffee. But his photography is decent, and it's nice to give away a camera. So all in all I don't have qualms about participating in this.

I did enter and didn't win, but I wouldn't have sold it, I'd have put a .85 VF in it. I'm already tired of the email I'm getting.

If i had won I would have used it as-is. Too poor for an M7 or any Leica M right now. College student with no money to spare really comes into effect here.

One day... one day...
