28mm finder on LTM
Hi,
Which finder would be easy to find and not so expensive to use with a 28mm lens?

I like the Soviet turret finder, which has 28, 35, 50, 85, and 135 views. Mine also shows the area outside the frame in each view. I think these can still be found for $50 or so.

For your Leica IIF, I highly recommend spending a little more and getting the Voigtlander 28/35 mini finder. Very low profile and a lovely finder to boot.

I had one of these finders and dumped it on ebay.
The original Russian made version which was an exact copy of the Zeiss Ikon finder made for the Contax II was good but later versions were modified to work with the Zorkis which had a higher top plate than the Contax or Leicas thus throwing off parallax.
It may work fine with the wide angle lens but from 50mm to 135mm it just doesn't cut it.
As for the OP's question either a Voigtlander 28mm or 28/35mm finder is the best option.

Yep, I too like the CV finders. The dedicated 28mm finder is big and bright. The 28/35 minifinder is wonderfully small and is therefore less big and bright. But that also means it's much less obtrusive and mates well with early ltm cameras (I use it on my Leica M3 and it looks like it was made for that camera). So, in my view (bad pun, sorry), you can't go wrong with either one and they each have their place.

I made a similar inquiry a couple of months ago, and wound up getting the CV 28/35 minifinder to use w/ a 28 mm on my Canon P. I add my voice to those who praise this little finder. It's bright, low-profile, and I find that I can easily see the 28 mm framelines while wearing glasses.
