Book Club - First Set of Book Suggestions
This thread will run for four days (until Monday morning Ottawa time).
Please post your suggestions for the first book to be read by the new RFF Book Club. Remember that the field is wide open here. You may suggest books of photography or books about photography. The only condition is that the books should be reasonably easy to get a hold of.
If you want to include reasons for your suggestion, that might be helpful. But please refrain from expressing your support or opposition for another's choice. We'll save that for the voting thread which I will open on Monday morning.
OK, the floor is open!
(If you want to know more about the book club, please refer to THIS thread.)

All the books on photography I read are long-since out-of-print. I just finished reading "Combat Camera Man" by Jerry J. Joswick, copyright 1961. Army Air Force combat photographer on B-24's in the European air wars, including the battles over Ploesti, Romania. Riveting. But I doubt we could all obtain a copy in short order, sorry.

"Associated Press Guide to Photojounalism". It's not as boring as it sounds and I found it at the library.

'Magnum Landscape'
It's inexpensive, especially in paperback, and available at Amazon.

Let´s pick a book that is easily available and not dedicated to one camera brand to start with!

Wow, I went out of town for a couple of days only to come back to find quite the impressive list here!
I'll let this thread run for one more day. Tomorrow morning I'll open the voting thread. So if anyone else still wants to get a suggestions in, now is your chance.

Dyer's: "On Going Moment" is an exceptionally good book. It is thought provoking and makes one look at photography and photographers in a different light. It is also of recent vintage and readily available in libraries and book stores.
