LCD red pixel after f/w update

Hi All,

Just upgraded my M8 for the first time from 1.092 to 1.102 and now have a red pixel on the top left-hand corner of the 'Info' screen. As it doesn't appear on every screen with a black bar at the top it's obviously not a dead pixel but there seems little mention of it apart from here - which seems to talk more about it being associated with 1.092.

Anyone got any ideas? Dead pixels are one of my pet hates, and not acceptable for a £3k camera that is less than a week old!

I now notice there is something in Leica downloadable PDF here; although the response is not awe inspiring!

"Problem with the reference pixels being currupted by a bright light at the image border has not been fixed."

Hi Ian,

I just noticed this post -- they sometimes escape me!

My M8 developed the red pixel in the top-left of the lcd, too. This happened after the same firmware upgrade. Although not a biggie, let's hope Leica remove this undocumented feature from the next version of the firmware.

Isn't that red pixel the Leica logo?

Most M8s have a single red pixel in the upper left-hand corner - It is not a fault <> it is a mystery. Maybe a reference to the red dot?

Maybe I could tape over the red dot so my camera isn't recognised by someone standing behind me!
