CV 35mm and a Leica CL

Any problems using this lens with a CL? I don't have any m-mount lenses yet and the only screw mount to M adapter I have is the 35/135 one.

The other screw mount lenses I have are the 50 Elmar, 50 Summitar, 50 Summar, and a Canon 50 1.8. Can they be used on a CL?

I'm going to look for an M mount 40 next month.

Thanks for any tips.

Michael

Except for the COLLAPSIBLE LENSES, I can't see any problems in using the lenses you have on the CL. The 40mm lines are good enough to estimate framing with the 35mm.

BE CAREFUL with the collapsibles - I don't have an elmar, summitar, or summar, but they may hit the light meter sensor on its stalk if collapsed. Best to seek advice from anyone who has these lenses and a CL.

Enjoy!

My Industar 22 Elmar copy collapses safely on both the CL's I have owned. It is stopped by a metal frame before hitting the curtain, and yet it is 90% fully collapsed.

With regard to the FSU lenses, there are sometimes machining differences, so this may not always be the case.

The only m-adaptor that will bring up lines any different than you see now is the 28/90, which will turn on the 90 frame. So putting a 50mm lens on the 35 adaptor will still show the 50mm frame..
I believe only the elmar may be a hazard to collapse fully, I have the manual somewhere, seem to remember instructions for putting some tape on the lens barrel to prevent it going in too far.

The recommendation was to stick Dymo tape on the barrels of collapsible lenses to prevent them from collapsing and hitting the meter stalk.

Thanks all for the tips. It sounds like I can use the 35mm adopter for the 50 also?
