Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

Seeking Info on New CV 21mm

I've seen some references around the RFF to an upcoming new CV 21mm lens that is faster than the current f/4 and rangefinder coupled.

But I've tried searching and can't come up with anything more than the odd reference to it.

Can someone kindly point me to any specific info about this lens? Thanks!

Joe,
The new M-mount CV 21 is basically a repackage. I believe Stephen said that the optics are the same. Both the old and new are RF coupled and both have a maximum aperture of f/4. I use the old style 21 on my R4M. If you need the brightline finder, buy the old style 21, the finder is included. The new M-mount 21/4 does not include the finder. Here is a link to Stephen's post with more information: http://www.rangefinderforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37461

Much appreciated. Was hoping it was a 2,8 but hey the CV lenses are still a bargain IMO.

I think Pres K is keeping his main line small so it does not impact the finder of the R4x.

If you are interested in a 21/2.8, I have a used (very slightly) one on EvilBay right now. See below:
