Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M"Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!
Hi, Im visiting NY by the end of this month and am planning on ordering the M8 (I'll order in advance of arriving from my hotel which is outside of NYC and allows me to save on sales tax).
Is the 2 year limited warranty valid internationally, so if I get any problem in Europe I could just send it to my local dealer without a problem?
If they do... they are the only ones!
Nor Nikon, Canon and others do!
In fact they don't like people do that......
And beware of customs on the way back.. they love the NYC flights.... a sério!
Boa sorte!

If you are thinking of ordering from NYC's B&H and have them ship it to a hotel, when I tried ordering some gear from them and having them ship it up to a hotel in New Hampshire where I was working in 2004, they would not do it, for security and fraud reasons. This was a credit card order. Not sure if their policy has changed or not.

I'll be careful (most of my Nikon gear was bought in NY) though I'll only buy the M8 if it comes with an international warranty. There are too many complaints to take any risk.
Can any US forum member (or anyone who bought their M8 in US) help?
