Where to send film for processing?

I don't live very near any large cities, so I need a place to send print or slide film for processing, printing, and scanning to a CD. Right now I need to send out a roll of Velvia 50. Any recommendations?

Also, any recommendations for exotic film? What's the deal with metallic paper?

I'm in your same boat- miles and miles from a good lab. I had been using Fleshtone in Miami, but they are shutting down. I have just started using one of their 'sister' labs- LTI in NYC. A little more expensive, but the first batch of C41/proofsheets were fantastic. Just as good as Fleshtone at their best.

They have a pdf of prices, but they are not all exactly right- just call them up- friendly and a pleasure to deal with. (Well they are New Yorkers)

I had a heck of a time finding a lab that would talk to me on the phone, and do the 10x12 proofsheets that I've built my filing system around.

not as high end as LTI, but I use Dwayne's Photo. It is worth sending several rolls at once since they charge s&h of $5.00 for the 1st roll, but only 25¢ for additional ones.

Thanks for the tip about Dwayne's photo! Checked out there site. Finally, a reasonable price for black and white 6x4's. As much as I like to develop my own black and white, sometimes I just want a nice batch of 24 or 36 proof prints to shove in an album. That's too many prints to do DIY with an enlarger, at least for me. Prices for simple black and white 6x4s are just nuts.

I just sent a roll of Tri-X to York Photo to check out - I don't have high expectations, we'll see. But I will definitely check out Dwayne's. Thanks again, just what I was looking for.

i just shot a roll of velvia 100f and sent it to fuji with one of their prepaid mailers. should get it back soon (i hope), will let you know how it goes...

Oddly enough check with Sam's Club (or perhaps WalMart). I'm sixty miles north of NYC and Sam's Club uses Fuji labs and are the only local place for E6 processing. The price is very cheap (eg about $1.50 for 120 Velva) but E6 takes two weeks. C41 with prints runs about $5.50 for 36 exposures.

BTW I'm not talking about their 1-hour service but the sent out service

Costco is also great usually, both the in-house for c-41 and having them send out the slides to Dwaynes.
If i ever had enough confidence to know I had more than two keepers on a roll, I'd like to try Dale labs. They do motion picture stuff so can supply slides from your negative film along with or instead of prints. That's kinda neat.

I use Photolab in Berkeley. By far they have the best local reputation for B/W. They are accomodating and easy to talk to. Ordinarily they develop in Xtol, but for a $15 setup charge and a 2-roll minimum they will use something else. Push/pull? - no problem. They just started to do C-41 in house; they send out E6. They use email! Scans to CD are top quality 5MB jpegs and for extra $ they will scan to 18MB tiffs.

I've had real good results from Dwayne's, and I'm thinking of trying them for E6 even though I can get same-day E6 from a place which is on my way to work. Dwayne's has made very consistently good slides.

I have some ADOX CMS20 film for processing, that uses an Adotech developer. I am unable to find anyone who develops this in Canada, or anywhere, for that matter.
Any suggestions will be greatfully received!

Gonna have to do that yourself I think- doubt a lab would tackle that one. I just ran my first 2 rolls of CMS- very nice indeed!
