Bessa Porn?
Most of the other forums (Leica, Oly, FSU) have the obligatory "show off your camera" thread. I have never seen one for the Bessa Family.....

Awesome imagery PC, specifically the candids. Loved the neon coffee color shots very vibrant.
I don't have a Bessa I was thinking about getting one but got a great deal on a M4-P so couldn't pass it up.
What lens you using Nokton 40mm f/1.4?

Why all the anonimity? Doesn't it make it more likely to be mistaken for a Leica which is more "mug-worthy"?

It took me a day, but I finally got around to making a quick, down-and-dirty, poorly stitched photograph of my Bessa R with the three lenses I own...the CV 35/2.5, a Canon 50/1.8, and a CV 75/2.5. I apologize for the quick "mug shots", but I wanted to get in on the thread...
Regards!
Don

The previous owner put the tape on, and since I feel no need to advertise any products, I haven't bothered removing the tape...

Here's mine. The Rollei 35RF, which is basically the Bessa R with some cosmetic changes and branded with the Rollei name. Sweet camera, though. Love the 40mm Sonar.

How is the build quality and feel of the Rollie compared to the Bessa R or R3a?

Can't say, myself, as I've never tried (or even held) the Bessa R or R3a. I think Huck Finn has commented on this. I'm not sure if there is a build quality difference beyond the finish and the framelines for the 40mm Sonar.
Without being able to compare... The Rollei is very solid and seems well built with a good feel. The finish seems to be holding up well and all controls/dials are smooth and solid without being stiff. The only complaint I would have, is the film rewind lever seems sorta cheap. Less than stellar. Not flimsy, but it seems like it should be more snug.

Very nice gear you guys. The various black cameras really are pretty. My R & R2 are chrome. I almost picked up a gray R2 but my friend beat me to it.
Bob
ps....it's great to read a thread about photgraphy, especially where no one is offended.

THANKS!
My gear changes with my mood. I usually shoot with K100d, K1000 or my Epic Stylus and a Bessa R3a which I just sold. My plan was to sell all my 35mm stuff and get a Leica. Plan didn't work out too well and am thinking about getting another Bessa or something like that. Any ideas in that $700 price range?
