new zorki's have arrived

Well I must admit,Alex came through for me again.A clean pair of functioning (it appears so far) Zorki 6's..one in cryllic ? and one marked in latin.As I have never owned a 6 before Im pleasantly delighted with them.Both are fitted with rather dumpy looking industar 50's that im unfamiliar with, so I would like to hear any comments on this lens (or body/lens combo) you might have?.........

I think it's that Industar-50 that has been voted the ugliest lens on earth. I have a couple of them on Zorkis, and what matters is whether they take pictures. For old-times' sake, I have others with the older-style collapsable lens version.

I don't have a 6 yet, but I'm looking. It seems that model wouod be about the closest to modern cameras, in that the back is hinged and the take-up spool is bult in, rather than floating around every time you take the back off of the other models.

I'm trying to build a series of Zorkies, 1 to 6. So far I'm still missing a 2 and a 6.

Do you already have the sub-series Zorki's? The 4's were made in at least 4 distinct variations, the 3's were made in 3 distinct variations, the 5's in 2 distinct variation and the 1's run in variations from a-f (some people claim that the f's are actually an f and a g!)

It gets to be like stamp collecting after awhile.

The rigid I-50 is actually a pretty good lens but it is butt ugly. The black version used on the late Zorki 4s looks a lot better. Yo can dress up the I-50 a little by putting a band of leatherette around that blank ring between the front and the lens mount.

The Z6 has a great wide-based rangefinder, hinged door and lever film advance. Jim Blazik has repainted and reskinned a Z6 to make it so pretty it gives you the same feeling as looking at a Lieca M2.
