Price is not the only issue. There are more in LTM/M than S. If you love the look of Nikon glass (I do) then S is the way to go. But if you are looking at one lens, perhaps two, I'm not sure if it makes that much of a difference. to your bottom line.

Don't get me wrong, I love my S2, lust for an SP or S3. But my 40/1.4 cost a lot less than a good 35/1.8.

I also see many more Nikkor lenses in Nikon mount than in LTM. Once professinals started using the cameras themselves, not just the lenses, lots of photographers also bought Nikons.
