shutter probs? or half frame Zorki
Hi guys,i just aquired a new to me Zorki MIR.It has the most amazing feature,it is full frame at 1/250th and slower..but half frame at 1/500...amazing those former Soviets they are,what a neat trick......ok ok seriously now,anyone know whats going on with my shutter curtains?

It's called "capping," and ya gotta lubricate the first shutter curtain train- it's going too slow, and the second is catching up to it. Just sold a Leica M3 that was doing it between 1/500 and 1/1000.

yashicalynx,

Try these links for some more info. I had my shutter adjusted for the same problem. Could probably have done it myself when I discovered it was controlled by two screws on the bottom of my Fed 5C. But I wasn't sure how to check the timing. Anyway here are some links
