Ilford LC29

I have been using LC29 for a while now without really knowing anything about it, I have pushed film, and developed a fair amount of stuff in it. I do it 1:29 but tell you the truth still dont know how it adds up to other developers. What are your thoughts on this developer?

LC29 appears to be diluted Ilfotec HC which is, in turn, Ilford's formulation of Kodak HC-110. From my cross checking of data sheets it roughly equates as follows.

LC29 1:19 = HC110 1:31 (or dilution b)

Personally I'd buy HC or HC-110 as it lasts forever and is very cheap in the higher dilutions (about 9p (UK) a roll at 1:63), you just need a syringe to measure it.

I've been using it at 1:29 with HP5+ but found a lot of shots to be fairly grey, just tried a roll at 1:19 and the negs seem to have more pop so looking forward to scanning them in :-)

the problem here is that I have a very limited pick of solutions, either lc29 or d76 (is it 76? 72? I duno, the kodak stuff) and I dont like using the later because its powder and a pain in the butt, although im just getting into buying stuff online over here so might be able to find something else

Hi Avotius, it's D76. I don't like using it because it's powder as well, so I bought a bottle of LC-29 an hour ago. I am curious to see how it develops.
