Heads up! Leica auction

Two Leicas just showed up on the Goodwill auction site.

Looks like and M2 or M3

This looks like a IIIf. It does have a 5 cm Summitar AND a 3.5 cm Nikkor.

My meager Leica ID skills aren’t good enough here. Neither is my wallet.

The first one is a button-rewind M2. Dunno about the second one - I'm not familiar with screw-mount Leicas.

It's an M2, probably with a collapsible Elmar 50/2.8. Looks a bit beat up, though, but I'm sure it's nothing that won't be fixed with a good CLA.

Thanks for the heads up!

The second is a III something. I only know because it has the slow shutterspeeds dial in the front. Other than that... it can be an f or (shudder intensely) a g!!

This is fun... Thanks again!

I don't think it's a G. The G has a slightly different look to the front of the viewfinder well as a self-timer lever like the late model IIIf. This one looks more like my early IIIf Red Dial. Also, the collpasible Summitar was common on the IIIf and not so much on the IIIc. My best guess is a IIIc that was upgraded with the Summitar or a an early IIIf BD or RD.

Have fun guys.

The serial number makes the second one a 1951 IIIf.

Isn't the internet amazing? We got the mystery camera figured out!

I remember the IIIG looking kinda modern, so I wasn't quite sure whether this was an f or something else. Thanks for the tips!

Wow. That M2 went for $601.

I'm no expert, but it didn't look worth that.
