Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

Help on Finding 39mm 486 Filter

I have been searching but unable to locate anyone that has either a B+W 39mm 486 filter or the Heliopan equivalent Digital UV/IR Cut filter. Anyone know where I might find one in stock? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks.

John,
While were on the subject, any idea when leica will send us our free filters? I've got an elusive 39mm on order : )

"So in summation we will finally have the camera everyone has been secretly longing for. Now if the camera takes a truly great shot there will be no debate- it was the iEye that gets all the credit and of course when an image is not to our liking it’s the iEye’s fault. Yes with the iEye only you can determine it’s creative genius."

Ted,

No idea. I too have one on order. The implication in their email when I registered and ordered my two filters was it would be the first of February for availability and then allowing one to two weeks for shipment. I haven't seen mine and apparently no one else has either.

I phoned Leica last week to change my filter order and was told is was "too late" so they must be coming pretty soon. I bet they are holding on to them until the v1.10 firmware is ready.

I have six (6) new silver 39mm B+W 486 UV/IR cut filters that I will sell for $85 plus shipping + 3.5% for paypal.

I am not a dealer. My wife and I bought ten of these in Germany from a dealer there and paid for fedex shipping to the U.S., so $85 just covers our cost, but if I can get that, I am happy to make these available to others on the forum. I have to check to see if I will need it, but I also may have an extra 46mm for $100. That one is black.

Tamarkin sells these for $89 but only has black ones in stock. What I understand, is that Leica will be selling them for $100, but I don't think they have listed them for sale yet, and I don't know of any place where you can buy silver ones in any event.

Email me off-forum if you would like one or more of these.

I ordered my Heliopan filters, both 39mm the day I ordered my M8, the M8 arrived 2 days later, and the filters, 5 days later than the M8. I ordered the Filters from the local photo store here in Cedar Rapids. HP who markets the Heliopan filters in the US has them in stock, according to my dealer.
