first shots with 25/4

After my first roll with this lens, I realized I had some learning to do. A lot of shots came out differently than I expected. Some were strangely cropped, things I thought were in the shot were not and a lot of shots were just boring. Other than that I thought it was quite liberating to shoot with such a wide lens and scale focus.

Here are some that I think came out okay.

Hi lubitel...
Great lens! Have a look at my first pix with the CV 25/4
on page 2 of the Voigtlander Forum. Ciao, mike

I had similar experience w (ultra) wides. You have to get used to its perspective, to learn how to use it efficiently. You need a strong foreground subject otherwise, as you say, it ends up boring, "empty" (full of small uninteresting details, in fact).
I prefer the third one

I really like that third shot. (I got my 25/4 just over a week ago, and my first shots aren't back from the shop yet).

But yes, when I first started using wideangle lenses with an RF camera I found framing quite hard - knowing what is in the shot, and getting horizontals and verticals right, can be quite tricky. But I've pretty much got the hang of it now and I'm hoping those first 25/4 shots will be ok.
