loose base plate m6

hi everyone,
need your advice...
i just got a user m6.
After i load the film, secure the base plate.
I realise that the base plate can still move up and down quite a bit at the end where the knob which i turn to secure the base plate is.
Is this normal?
not like it is going to fall off but it does irriate me alot.
thanks for all help acquired.
cheers

Just checked mine - nope, no any movement at all after the plane is fixed securely, just sits very tight and snug. Pay attention whether you put teh plate properly (fitting the metal pin on the other camera base side into the appropriate hole on the base and the pin protrudes though the hole once the plate is secured on the place).
There must not be any movement at all on the base plate once properly attached.

I had the same problem with a M6 bought in a shop. It is not realy important. No light falls in. A normal fotomecanical can fix it in a few minutes i think. Mine now is fine.
