A few years ago i bought me a summicron 35/2 type 2 with the protuding aperture control lever. When i had it cleaned the camerarepairman told me it was rare because of this lever. So i looked on the internet to find information about it, but i only found out is was a type 2 build in the late 60's and it appeared to be fairly common. So i didn't think much about it until recently i discoverd they sell a 35/2 type 2 with the lever and serial number 2329592 on: www.collectcamera.com
. They claim it is rare because it is made in Wetzlar and not in Canada. Mine is also made in Wetzlar and its serial number is 2330163. I have read about single types of lenses being made in Germany and Canada, but never anything about the 35/2 type 2. Can anyone tell me more about this, was the type 2 made in Germany and Canada and how many were made in both countries?
