Smena8m (eighties)
Short fondling of a Fed-something with a collapsible industar (late eighties)
Smena8m (nineties) (Still works, it's somewhere at my parents' place)
Polaroid Zoom900 (2000-2002(3?), then it got stolen at a festival. I've shot some pretty wicked stuff with it!)
Minolta Dynax 5 + some growing lens collection (2003 - Still have it and use it once in a while with wide lenses - 17 & 24mm)
And then the Classic Hell broke loose.
Right now: Minolta Dynax 5 & Hi-matic 9, Yashica GSN, Canonet QL17 GIII, Kiev 4, Contax IIa, Rolleiflex Automat 2, Kowa Six, Super Ikonta III, and a Super Dumb Olympus Digital P&S. (I have the feeling that i'm forgetting a "family member", though.)
Latest acquisition: Leica M2+Coll. Summicron 50/2 ...

My map began with my fathers Kodak Rettinette camera found in a closet.
Then: Pentax ME, MX, Rollei TE, switch to Nikon: FE2, FM2
The middle part is complicated and memory fails me. Many cameras under the bridge.
Here I am at RFF.

Right now, Leica IIIf, Pentax MEF and MX, Mamiya C330 and a Nikon Coolpix 2.2mp.
After the holidays, I'll do one of the following:
Give away Nikon and upgrade to Canon A530 or 540
Sell Leica and get M3
Sell Leica and get Canon G7
Sell one Pentax and get K100D
Do nothing and wait for improved scanners.

I'll play - if only to see the horrible development commited to electronic paper..
Minolta Vectis APS Riva Zoom something. I shot something like 3 rolls with this one, prefering disposable cameras for their durability. Then, at 18 I sold it to my mother helping me buy an Olympus C4040Z digicam.
Replaced it with a Minolta Dimage 7Hi for the wideangle and manual zoomring.
Added a Minolta Maxxum 7 SLR.
And quite a few lenses.
Replaced the Dimage 7Hi with a Dimage A2 when it broke.
Bought a Zorki 4 with a bad shutter, light leaks etc, but oh so much fun! Got bitten by the FSU bug.
Added a Kiev 4 for a more precise RF, and added a 35-50-85 set of Jupiters. Replaced the Kiev 4 due to a broken shutter.
Bought the long-time-dream Maxxum 7D dSLR and added a split-prism matte screen for MF. It went in for a shutter/AS-mechanism error after a few weeks, and I've never quite managed to commit to it since, as it is more or less orphaned by Sony. If they bring another 7D-class body to the table next year, I'll probably lean towards more SLR use.
Bought a Moskva 5 (which regretably has a soft lens).
Started developing film at home and bought a Leica M3 after the Kiev had served me well for a year as the shutter started dragging and the camera is winding improperly.
I'm (temporarily, surely) in RF heaven, my Sunny16 is working great and the M3 does its job well. My money will go towards film, chemicals and books in 2007..
Regards
Kjetil

Kjetil, I have always despised the use of digital cameras and invested all my money in film chemicals, enlarger lenses etc. I now have 3 basic digital cameras which I use a lot. I can see myself abandoning film processing myself all together, between the F30 and the GRD theres not much one could want within B&W photography, at an amateur level that is. But I still shoot my weekly 2 rolls and develop them, for me this is more a "Zen" thing than actual result .... I love spending time in my darkroom, but have grown very accustomed to my home office and my Mac, CS2 and epson printer.

Hmmm. I've used a lot over the years, so I'm sure I'll miss a few. (I'm excluding digital here.)
Kodak Instamatic 104 (early '60s)
Bell & Howell using 126 film (1970's)
Canon AE-1 (1980 or so)
Canon A-1 2000
Canonet QL17 2003
Leica CL 2003
Other cameras in my profile 2005, after I came here.
The A-1 and CL get the most use. Tonight I'll be using one of the QL17's.

I went through a folding 120 camera stage. Then there was the fixed lens RF stage that led me to the Bessa R, and the whole interchangable lens RF camera thing I'm in now.

I really get what you are saying, Magus, but my problem has been finding a good compact digital I feel good shooting..
The last year-and-a-half with Zorki->Kiev->M have made me more and more focused on the actual shooting, have ensured I always have a camera with me capable of matching my skills (and far beyond that), and the files I get from my Scan Dual IV are just so much more pleasing than what the 7D and the A2 produce..
Even though this is just a pesky snap from a night on town, I'm at a loss to see how any of the digicams I've tried could have matched the attached image.
When we do a "how much are you spending on film/dev"-thread in a year or two I might feel totally different, sell all the film gear and go for a compact along my 7D (or Alpha-10 or whatever) and leave all costs behind, but right now I have found my comfort-zone so to speak.
Sorry for any unintentional de-railing
Kjetil

It started off simply enough in 1962 with a Kodak Super 27... then,
Regula 35
Petriflex IV
Petri Half-7
Pentax H3
Pentax Spotmatic
Pentax H3v
Leica M2 (still have)
Olympus Pen D2
Pentax Spotmatic Motor (still have)
Pentax ES (still have)
Olympus 35RC (still have)
Pentax 6x7 (still have)
Minolta CLE (still have)
Pentax Auto 110 (still have)
This lands us in the mid-1980's after which there was a period of inactivity, but it's become much more complex in recent years.
I at first took the thread heading to mean "what gear is in your future?" As to that I have no major acquisitions in mind, maybe a few focusing screens, filters and a lens or two...

Aged 18 in 1981, bought first camera (vaguely remember a black/green plastic thing and a box brownie from when I was child: early 1970s?):
1981-1989, Olympus XA2
1981-1982, Olympus OM10*
1989-2003, Pentax compact something
2003-2005, Canon 10D**
2005- , Epson RD-1
2006-, Rollei 35S***
* Lost interest in photography. Spent next 20 years taking snapshots (occasionally, and all very bad).
** The advent of usable digital cameras refired my interest in photography . Love digital, and this time am seriously interested in photography (but not in film).
*** For when I go travelling and am forced to use film in an emergency (I've not used it yet)!

Agfa Ambi Silette (not strictly mine, its my father's, but is the first camera I ever used c.1974)
Kodak Instamatic 177X (126 format) My first camera, still own it, c.1979
Canon Powershot something or other, c.1997. Lent to brother, lost
Nikon F80 2001-2005, sold to fund DSLR purchase (see below)
Yashicamat 124G c.2004, sold to hot fashion student
Mamiya 645 Super Pro system c.2005, barely used it , sold it to fund...
Nikon D70, May 2005 - August 2006, sold to fund...
Epson R-D1
Then it all goes a bit haywire because of GAS induced by this place
Zorki 4K September 2006. Not shot in anger yet, bought for the Jupiter 9 it came with
Voigtlander Bessa T October 2006. Currently broken and hopefully being fixed
Voigtlander Bessa R2S NHS December 2006
Lenses:
Nikon 28-85mm kit lens, nasty
Nikon 70-300mm kit lens, pretty good actually
Nikon 24mm f/2.8, lovely

Nikon 70-210 f/4-5.6D, best value lens I've ever bought, just brilliant
Nikon 18-70mm DX kit lens, pretty good actually
Nikon 70-180mm Micro-Nikkor, astounding technical marvel
Then I get in to the rangefinder GAS and those lenses are listed in my sig...
Next on the list:
Nikon rangefinder bits, probably a backup R-D1, Voigtlander Bessa D or Zeiss Ikon D or M(agenta)8 if they ever sort it out
Happy times
