Need advice

I am using Photoshop 4 ( yes I now it's old, but I haven't mastered it yet so
I persist). When I pull a tool such as clone stamp or any tool I don't know how to put it back and disable it. I know that if I pick another I can go on with that. Supposing you are all done for the day how does one just dock the tool so it doesn't come back up the next time you go in? TIA

Maybe click on the Move tool so that's all that comes up next time?

Thanks for the tip MadMan 2K

It seems to work OK, I just hated whatever tool I selected to follow each ensuing step I took. I needed to put it away. Thanks again for your input.
