35 pre-asph vs new asph

Is there a big difference in sharpness between these two at 4.0-11.0.
I know there is a difference at 2-2.8.

I am asking because I am more and impressed with my new 50 2.8. I can see it makes a crisper image than any other 50mm Leica lens I have the newest being the 1969 version after the DR/Rigid series.

Search for 35 Summicron or 35 Summilux. Or both. Schedule about a week to read everything.

Search by lens model in the Galleries for examples.

Good luck!

If you want to become totally confused, add the Zeiss 35mm Biogon, 35mm M-Hexanon, 35mm Ultron and Nokton to your search.

On the cron, no, not a difference that is readily discernible (at least the 4th pre-asph, can't speak to 1st through 3rd version).
