that is a nice lens Joe, very compact. I have the f2.8 version which is very sharp.
the price is certainly right.

It's a great lens - I really like mine. I often grab my OM2n with 135/3.5 as a supplement to my M6 when I go shooting.

Wow, great deal! On the OM list this is called a "Fang", a term coined because of Doris Fang, a former list member who had the knack of finding OM gear at criminally low prices. You done good!
Oh ... and when should we expect developed film shot with this lens?

seller is not happy!
his shipping was on the high side and i let him know (very nicely), he said i could withdraw my bid if i wanted.
i declined. even with the shipping the lens is cheap.
he said it was like new and had the case

update...
the unhappy seller of the 11 dollar lens has already left me positive feedback, go figure.
earl, i should at least check out that om list, can i get an address from you please?
AND...i just won a 'rare' zoom, the zuiko 28-48! for 99.99.
i was the only bidder. glad i didn't take the $149. bin option.

The main page for the OM list is http://zuikoholic.com/
Click on the second bullet (Quick control central for manipulating your subscription) and you'll see a link for subscribing.
Be aware that form time to time there are a LOT of OT posts; Gene and I both subscribed for a long time. The volume got to be so high that we both dropped off.
BUT, many of the folks on that list are EXTREMELY knowledgeable. It's the deepest repository of OM information I know of. Certainly more than exists within current Olympus employees...
Congrats on the 28-48!

The E-1 threads got to me to some extent, but I do admit that within all the chaff there also were some really good posts about the E-1 and ZD lenses, especially once some of the members purchased them and got hands-on experience.
And Roland was a very valuable member of that list, IMO.

Moose was here? I missed it! Man, he was hardcore "no digital!", then he got an E-1 and entered the dark side.

These SLRs are dangerous. It is amazing just how little $$$ you need to put together a nice complete kit.

That's an interesting thread that I totally missed. Aaargh! Anyway, I think http://www.rangefinderforum.com/foru...8&d=1158676573
isn't necessarily a fair indication. Not claiming the 50/1.4 is equal to the Nocti, but was the mirror locked up on the OM-1 for that shot? If not, it's apples and oranges.

let's see, so far tonight that's 99.99 for a zoom lens, 40 for a winder and 78 for an om2.

Could be Joe. Congrats! That one looked good, so I'm looking forward to your assessment of this body. Aside from AE, the OM-2 differs from the OM-1 in not having mirror lock-up. No big deal for most use, but when I use a tripod for macro with an OM, I usually reach for the OM-1 and lock up the mirror.

Well done Joe - I guess my OM2n is safe now! I couldn't have matched that price anyway so all's well.
You have still have a long way to go as a zuikoholic though; I've just persuaded myself I need a 24/2 Zuiko more than I need a 35/1.7 Ultron, and I had a thought about the 35 shift last week...
Anyone reading who doesn't need their 24/2 please get in touch!

you talkin' bout me??
tom, i never heard back from you so i thought you were interested in a trade only, sorry.
considering the christmas parcel rush, i am not holding my breath about getting this stuff in too quickly.
but that's one of the nice things about it not being rf gear, no rush and no panic.

I was just teasing - not complaining. You're right really - I thought a trade was probably the only way we'd come up with something mutually satisfactory.
Nearly offered you a 200/4 as well, but I'm going to hang on to that one for now...
