Storage of uncut film

Thinking about upgrading to the Coolscan 5000 to improve the scanning convenience, I came to the idea to not cut the film at all, but rather store the uncut rolls. Putting it back into the empty film canister would lead to a strong curling so there must be a better way.

How is your storage solution? Thanks for any input

I use one of the containers 25 or 50 CD-Rs come in, the one with the spindle in the middle. Just about the right size so curl isn't an issue, even if you have 10 rolls inside. I bring it to the lab and I just throw the rolls in the case and then the case goes into my bag. It locks to keep out dust and is clear so you can see if it has film inside. After the scan they still go inside plastic neg pages.

I use the roll film adapter on my LS-4000. I scan the roll at high res, create "master" image files, then cut into 6-frame strips and store them in standard neg pages. After scanning the whole roll the first time I'm guessing that in the future I'll have little need to again scan the whole roll thinking more likely I'll need to scan a single frame here and there--thus storing as strips will actually make it easier later rather than having to feed in the whole roll. What benefit do you foresee in keeping the whole roll intact after you've already scanned the whole roll once?

Rich: the first and last picture on each strip are always curling so one of the sides becomes soft - both with the standard 6-frame-feeder and with the FH-3. From past experience I can say that the scanning experience can still increase when I didn't expect to improve further so I'd like to keep the option of a rescan
