Excellent eyes, Johan!

It is a Summitar 2/5cm, but it's not made compeletely rigid, that rubber ring serves for two things: first it stopps dust getting into the gliding tube and second it prevents the the tube to protrude pretty far into the body of the M8. It wouldn't touch the shutter, but it doesn't feel alright.

It's perhaps not the most beautiful solution (some would even call it ugly) but it works.

If it works, then it works, right

@ janrzm, that M3 DS + 35/2 ASPH in chrome is a very handsome combo - does the M3 have a standard finder or is it modified with a later finder, having 35mm frame lines?

Beautiful.

The model is pretty easy on the eyes, too.

An M2 that has paid its dues.

... and still continues to do so! Nobbylon painted it black for me and I stuck the original owners name tag to the inside of the bottom plate as a relic.

In a few years time it will likely brass again, but the paint John used is real tough!

Nowadays I also have an M4 in even more rundown condition that is basically fine. Unfortunately it needs a shutter repair, one curtain came undone. I'm out of funds so it's a shelf queen...
