Leica lenses name...?
Hello to the you all.
I'm new in this forum, this is my first post, though I'm not new to RF cameras.
I often use a Voigtlander R2 with Voigtlander lenses and some Leica lenses.
Here's my question: I have always wondered if there's a meaning in the Leica lenses name: I mean, the sense of a "Noctilux" can be easily understood as a lens which has a very clear lens so that you may even take photos in the night. But the meaning of names as "Elmar", "Elmarit", "Summilux" isn't that clear to me.
Is it connected with the F value of the lenses?
