IR film.. what's left? your experience?

Didn't Ilford used to make a near IR film with somewhat fine grain? SPX 200? The grain looked much finer than the other IR offerings, but I believe it has been discontinued. Are there other fine-grained IR films?

Any fans of IR photography here? What do you use?

thanks,
mike

I have two kinds right now: three rolls of Maco and a roll of Ilford SFX. Haven't used them yet, though, and all are expired.

Here's some interesting comparisons I found:

Too bad most of it isn't even available.. except the Kodak.

You still can get the SFX 200 film. I used it a long time ago, and if you don't bother with a red filter, it's a very nice, sharp and contrasty film. I was contemplating getting some rolls again.

After asking at APUG and preliminary snooping around, I would say that it's still in production, but just hard to find because they don't do huge runs. I'll hope that one of the Ilford guys answers my question today.
