NOUVELLE EXPOSITION : « Le Scrapbook d’Henri Cartier-Bresson »
Du 21 septembre au 23 décembre, la Fondation HCB présente l’un de ses trésors, le Scrapbook, une sélection inédite de tirages réalisés par Cartier-Bresson en 1946 pour préparer l’exposition du Musée d’Art Moderne de New York en 1947. Le Scrapbook marque un tournant fondamental dans l’œuvre d’Henri Cartier-Bresson, qui n’avait jamais été vue sous cet angle.

Le catalogue est publié par Steidl.

From September 21st to December 23rd, the Fondation HCB will show one of its treasures, the Scrapbook, an exceptional selection of photographs printed by Cartier-Bresson in 1946 for the preparation of his show at the Museum of Modern Art in New York in 1947. The Scrapbook marks a fundamental step in Cartier-Bresson's work, which has never been from this angle before.
The catalogue is published by Steidl.

Historien de la photographie, il est notamment l'auteur de : Histoire de Voir , 1989; Nouvelle Histoire de la Photographie (dir.), Bordas, 1994 / Larousse, 1998; Dieter Appelt , Photo Poche, 2005 et d'une étude approfondie sur le Scrapbook d'Henri Cartier-Bresson (Steidl, 2006).

Michel Frizot is a photography historian, researcher at the CNRS (CRAL, EHESS, Paris). Amongst other publications, he is the author of A New History of Photography (1998) and of a scientific essay on Henri Cartier-Bresson's Scrapbook published by Steidl in 2006.
