MIS inks - lovely!

A little while ago I asked here about making decent B&W inkjet prints, and I was pointed in the direction of MIS inks. So I bought an Epson R220 and ordered some inks, and waited. They arrived on Saturday when I was out, and there was 10 customs charge to pay, so I've only just had a chance to try them.

And they're really nice - it's going to take me a little while to work out the best settings for brightness and contrast etc to get the best prints, but I've already got several I'm rather pleased with.

Comparing with the attempts I made with my HP printer and colour inks, I'm amazed at just how bad the colour casts were. I could see the dark shadows had a slight green cast, but comparing with the MIS prints it really is green! And the highlights on the old ones were pink!

Anyway, I really like the MIS inks, so thanks all for the advice.

I use them too. They are very nice. So far I've used mine right "out of the box" and I'm getting very nice results on my Epson.

I have gone the C88 route ... very happy with the results

so far my favorite paper is Kodak Professional Lustre (awesome Dmax)

The Museo Silver Rag is real nice... not as forgiving but better Dynamic range
