Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

well. the viewfinder looks like it's from the 80s, and the red dot from the 70s.

This picture has popped up before. i believe it came from a "Leica World News" article, a year or so ago, that talked about what a future digital M may look like (key word here is "may").

We'll know in about a montth, if not sooner, what the camera really looks like.

John, since you claim to have seen the camera, can you say anything about any secondary LCD panel on the camera to replicate the information in the R-D1 dial cluster - memory, battery, quality and so on? Levers on the front of the camera? Anything in place of the rewind knob?

You mentioned it has no red blob, presumably, this was removed to disguise it?

Is the screen offset to the left on the rear panel?

Anything else you'd like to share with us?
