Midwest photo

Has anyone bought used equipment from Midwest photo? Are their ratings reliable? Good service? What has been your experience?

Thanks for your response. I'd been putting off picking up a couple of the old nikon flash units at KEH and just saw one of two I was planning on buying disappear. I just now ordered two from Midwest. I figured I didn't have much to lose with their 15 day trial period. Assuming everything works out it will be a better deal than KEH. I'll give an update after I receive them.

One thing to note as I was browsing their site; they don't have a very large selection for used gear.

MidWest Photo is super!! Last week I bought a used Arca reflex hood for my 4x5 and the description over the phone concerning its condition was more pickier than I am and I am picky. It arrived in outstanding condition. Over the past three years I have bought used Hasselblad and Ebony camera pieces and Jobo darkroom parts with absolutely not a single problem. Jim (owner) is a great business man. Buy from him!!

Well, I ended up having to cancel my order. I ordered two speedlights and one had been sold the day before. I really needed two and another one turned up at KEH. I will have to say I was very happy with their customer service. I received an email explaining the situation and asking me if I wanted the order with just the one flash. First rate service. I will take a look at their site in the future for any purchases.

My flashes arrived from KEH. One seems to work fine; I'll test it out tonight. The other won't fire any thing less than full blast! They were easy to deal with; I'm sending it back for an even exchange.
