Get your Zeiss Ikon while they last !!!

Word on the street is that with Zeiss taking control of distribution for their products, the Gray Market will VERY soon be a thing of the past. For those of us who saved hundreds if not thousands of dollars buying gray market, our days seem to be numbered.

Having said that. Stephen at CameraQuest has a limited supply of the Zeiss products at some fantastic prices. If you were thinking about geting the Ikon but were not sure, don't think much longer unless you want to pay full MSRP when your time to buy comes up.

I'd love to own a Zeiss-Ikon outfit, unfortunately it's out of my budget and I don't think I'll have a way to get a loan for this (living abroad)

I think they're just trying to get rid of the gray market distributors that sell for (a lot) less than regular retail. These include CameraQuest, Popflash, and PhotoVillage. Companies like B&H and Freestyle have carried the Zeiss lineup from the get-go at the normal prices, I imagine these companies will still be selling the gear.

Word on the streets ? One of these silly rep rumors ? Or is there a reliable source ? Somehow this does not make any sense to me, Stephen could get more money for his stockware AFTER the grey market is closed ?
And I wonder why Stephen himself does not tell us all these exciting news. It is HIS business, isn't it ? Or does your advertising service include this kinda personal sales support for your clients ?

Just a question, no offense meant. It is your site and you can do whatever you want to do !

Thanks, had not read that . Hasselblad is out of biz now, no loss. I haven't seen ANY sort of marketing activities for the ZI here in Germany, it can't get worse, only better.

'No loss'? How do you figure? Hasseblad was one of the more important camera manufacturers for a LONG time.

So what ? As a distributor for the ZI RF camera they did not do a good job, and that is why Zeiss has solved this connection.

I'll bet that the Zeiss RFDR camera will still be around for sale at less than "list" price, but will be labeled as "demo" or something. It is too big a world to completely clamp down 100%. Even "new" Leica cameras are sold at less than MSRP but labeled as "demo", or without factory warranty, etc.

Just my opinion.
