The "say anything" thread

Go ahead... say anything... anything you'd like to say. I'll just delete it in the morning... so say whatever you please! Oh... please include some connection to Rangefinder cameras.

Okay, I'll start. Dude... why didn't you think before starting this thread. You should have put it in the "and everything else" forum, not the General Forum". Sheesh...

I'm thinking of selling my Multi Pro to buy a Hexar AF and Epson V750.

George, is that 0% interest credit card helping you make this decision?

I LOVE that little smiley. That's the best ever - and really appropriate for this forum.

Actually, the card would only be a temporary aid selling the scanner would offset any incurred costs. That is, if I can stick to my guns.

I love being a hypocritical gear hugger.

OK, I'll bite, if you had the choice between APX 100 or Efke R100 in 120 format which film exhibits better tonality, contrast, grain, etc. blah, blah, blah.

This question is in no way connected to the now defunct Film Forum thread. Any similarities are purely coincidental as we hold a high standard with the intent to torment the innocent and protect the guilty. Insert any appropriate patootie saving disclaimer...

Cheers,

George,

Don't sell the multi pro. You'll regret it. If you are desperate for a 35mm P&S then get a cheap second hand Olympus Stylus Epic or an XA.

Regards

Why is it now so hot in the UK!

My film's dying, and there isn't enough space in the fridge.

I really need to learn to agree to disagree with some folks on this forum. I have been on various online fora and mailing lists for a long time, and for some reason I have never quite learned to let go. When someone posts something that I think is unfair I get riled. But I will use this opportunity to acknowledge that flaw and state that I will try harder.

APX100 vs R100 - well, on the one hand, does it matter? The former is going away. On the other...I have only seen shots done on the former, and have shot about...7 rolls on R100. I like the R100. I find it a lot smoother looking, though somewhat less "rich" than the APX. However, I did not shoot enough to get my exposure and development dialed in.

As for RFs...I miss mine. I've sold off several lately in an attempt to get money to replace some stuff I broke (light meter, notably). And I brought along my DSLR on this conference trip just because it was easier (I dont' have an interchangeable lens RF), and I am reinforcing my preference for RFs as travel cameras.

Brian, I guess you decided to stay around? After the good-bye speech you wrote, I wished you well. I'm glad you've changed your mind, I really liked that zen moment post you wrote about photographing in a churchyard a while back.

That really wasn't intended to be a goodbye speech. It was a couple of sentences expressing the thought that I'm frustrated with all of the bickering and, now, all of the policing that is going on -- by both the moderators and the self-selected "mods". I generally agree with the decisions of the moderators but it's darned frustrating.

He's looking at the LCD screen on the back of the camera. He was ahead of his time.

Have you ever been to Graceland, Brian? Elvis, his momma and daddy are all buried in the back yard next to the cement pond.

I'm very surprised that given the opportunity to say anything, so few people have had so little to say!

My favorite food is the Nilla Wafer banana cream pudding recipe on the back of Nilla Wafers boxes. I can eat POUNDS of this substance in a day.
