Carl Zeiss Biogon 28mm on a Leica M6?

Hi friends,i have a Carl Zeiss Biogon 28mm on my Contax G2,my question is the next:
Can i use this lens on a Leica M6 with an adapter?
Where i can to buy this adapters, if exists, for the leica?

Supposedly there are firms in Japan that can remount the G-series lenses in M mount barrels. But if you prefer the M6 camera, you would probably be better off trading the G-series 28mm in for the new Zeiss ZM version, which is fully Leica compatible. It's a very nice compact lens, optically excellent, mechanically smooth focusing, and with a better f-stop ring than most modern Leica M lenses sport.

I saw in the Leica Fotografie magazine that they used CZ G Hologon 16mm on the M6. Lens needs modification, which is expensive BTW. I would advise you to buy new ZM Biogon. tHERE will be not much difference in price...

I had heard of a Japanese shop doing these conversions. Not cheap and the conversion is one-way (that is, lens is no longer useful on the G2).

In January, I had some email discussions about this with Roger, an RFF member who lives in Japan. It seemed at first he'd found a shop in Tokyo that would build an adaptor for Contax G lenses to fit M-mount bodies. We thought this was pretty exciting but there were nagging questions, for instance the focusing helix and RF coupling. Upon closer investigation, it turned out not to be an adaptor but rather an irreversible conversion, a pricy operation needed for each lens. Given this, and the introduction of the new ZM lens line, the idea lost its luster.

Yes it takes the optics out and places them in a whole new barrel assembly. The cost of the conversion alone is more than that of the new ZM 28mm Biogon. The choice therefore is easy, get the ZM Biogon and still keep your G Biogon for your Contax. Then you do a comparison of both and show us the results as we love those sort of comparisons.

Isn't the G 28mm supposably better tham the M-Mount ?

The only G to M conversion I have seen, is adapting the 16mm f8 Hologon G to Leica M mount. Since the lens is manual, non-rangefinder coupled focus, it works. All the other G lenses would not work since there is no way to manually focus them off of the G bodies. The manual focus is internal, coupled to the the "wheel" on the G bodies.
