QL-17 GIII and Zink-Air. Battery tester indicates empty but metering works fine.

Hi!

I have a Canonet QL-17 GIII. I use Air-Zink batteries type 675. I noticed that after some time with a fresh battery the battery tester stops working. But the metering still seems to be ok when I compare it with my modern SLR.

Have you experienced this?
How long is the metering reliable and how do I know when its not?
How much can the voltage drop before metering starts being inaccurate?

/Marcus

I';ve seen canonets with broken tester lamp contacts, which only sometimes work. Might be the answer, unless you can see some pattern in the behaviour that indicates it's battery related.
