I finally could test my Heliar 15mm + my jupiter 8

Here it is, I could process a color slide film using my new heliar 15 and Jupiter 8.

I love the 15mm though it can not be used for every purpose. The silly thing is that I made fall the viewfinder last week (stupid me, I had it since less than 1 week). Then I'll soon buy another viewfinder (there's no lock feature on the viewfinder, so it's better to remove it from the camera body when not using it).

Here are a few 15mm test shots :

test 1

test 2

test 3

test 4

test 5

test 6

test 7

test 8

and one with the Jupiter 8 + vivitar 283 flash :

test 1

Though these are not outstanding pics, I'm happy of this buying !

Salut Laurent!

That 15 is definitely a nice addition to one's arsenal. I got one recently and although my VF is really tight in the shoe, your story worries me.

I was told (and confirmed it with experimentation) that it was best to shoot the 15 at f/5.6 or 8. Bellow 5.6, it's too soft and above 8, it degrades very fast. F/5.6 is superb with an insane amount of detail.

As you said, it's not for everything, especially portraits. On the other hand, it opens new possibilities that you wouldn't have thought of without such a large angle of view.

If you haven't seen the pictures I took with my 15, check my gallery.

Salut Cher Marc

It's your gallery and also the other members pictures that made my mind for the 15mm. I'm also so glad of the skopar 35mm which is a good value for it's price.

My viewfinder was on the accessory shoe but I was walking since one hour in rainy Monaco, the camera under my coat. Then I guess the camera was rubbing on my coat or something, then I heard something falling heavily on the pavement and it was my brand new viewfinder...

So watch out for any of your viewfinders ! and Thank's a lot for the advice on best working apertures.

A bientot, Laurent
