Scala as negative

The demise of Scala labs has left some of us with Scala and no easy (or cheap) way to get it processed as slides.
I decided to try processing Scala as a negative to see how it performs.
I ran about 1/3 of a roll (12 frames) through my Nikon FE (sorry folks not RF) rated at 200.
It was processed in Rodinal 1+20 for 8 minutes at 68F, 5 inversions every minute. The results aren't bad, but I think I'll try 1+25 next.
The flower was shot with a 55mm micro-Nikkor, and the birdhouse and licence plate with a 200mm Nikkor.
The flower and birdhouse are straight scans (default seetings), with only slight lowering of brightness and resizing in PS. The licence plate is a 100% crop of a straight scan with no post-processing at all.

Peter and Todd, I am long Scala, I've got some sitting waiting to be processed, however this might be a fine solution. I liked the idea of the positive but the cost, offshore mailing and all involved getting it back also makes me think this is a viable alternative.

Has anyone else here at RFF explored Scala as a negative, I'd be interested in their findings.

Yes, if I remember correctly it was 7.5 minutes in Tmax developer at 20c - results were fine - good negs, low grain, good contrast - Quite like HP4....

Ijust got a roll back from Main Photo in Santa Ana, CA. They included a flyer that claims that they have duplicated the chemistry to process Scala as a positive and will do it for as long as there are peoplw using it.

Until 30 June they are honoring Color Reflections mailers.
