I'm off!

I'm off on holiday for three weeks, travelling to Tasmania, the little island state south of Melbourne. We're expecting cold and windy weather, but also lots of opportunities for good photography. Hopefully I'll have something good to share when we get back. Cheers!

Enjoy your trip! I have been to most of Australia but never made it across to 'Tazzy' so I'll look forward to your photographs!

Yes, it's autumn down under. I tend to forget that.

Have fun and show some of your pictures so we can envy you

Good luck, Chris. The trip sounds very interesting, and you should have great photography opportunities. Sometimes, small things look great on film. Enjoy the trip and the adventure.

My wife and I had a chance to visit Taz about 10 years ago. We were on a 3-week tour of Oz and landed (by air) in Hobart on the day after the first yachts arrived from the annual Sydney to Hobart race. Quite a sight.

Drove all over the northern half of the Island (saw the famous prison camp etc.) Up in the higher regions much of the scenery reminded us of Vermont here in the US. Very green but cool even in the Summer (we were there in January).

Definitely would like to go back one day and spend more time there but, alas.....

WORK IS THE CURSE OF THE LEISURE CLASSES!!

Have a great trip!
