Zorki 6 light leak (again)

*sigh* I was hoping the extra seal material I added to the latch area had fixed this, but alas, it didn't.

I got this camera on ePray for $20 and I knew it had a light leak in the door area. I added some of Jon Goodman's seal material to the door channels hoping that might fix it. It didn't, but I only had the leak in one frame. It seemed to be coming from the latch (as the seller had indicated), so I cut a thin piece of material and added it to the latch area. Now it's worse!!!

The first two pics below are the first & third from a set of brackets. The middle pic of the set did not show any signs of a leak. Neither of these pics seems to show a leak coming from the door area and they are the first I've seen of any problems coming from some other part of the camera. The third shows the leak I'm used to seeing with this camera: on the side with a distinct edge.

Short of sending this thing to Oleg, anybody have any idea what I ought to do?

It might be that the "door is ajar." The door itself might be "racked" a bit. With the foam holding it open more. Tape up the door to see if that solves the leak. Do you have any Gaffers tape? It won't leave sticky residue all over the camera.

Hmm... That ebay seller said he used electrical tape on the latch and that solved the problem. I'm looking for a long term solution, though. Hence the foam in the door area.

Go to a dark room with a flashlight and open the door of the camera. With the lens off, shine the light into the opening and see if there is a leak. Also put your eye right up to the take up spool area and shine the light around the front of the camera and look for leaks. Dont think it is the door as the leaks would be red colored.Mine was leaking around the self timer area..............

B&W film, Dave. Leak won't be red.

Maybe I ought to run a roll of color through it, though. That might help me figure out where it's coming from. Thanks!
