Question 40.5mm lens hood on a jupiter-12 and orion-15?

i just received my lens hood (bought on ebay for less than $1.00): 40.5mm lens hood.

while it looks good on all the standard lenses, i wonder if there are problems if i use it on the jupiter-12 and orion-15, as they both are wide angle lenses -- will the lens hood rim | edge be visible on pictures that i take?

i thought i should ask prior to shooting film. thanks!

Yes, this hood would vignette on the J12 and Orion 15. These lenses are so deeply recessed, that hoods are not really advisable.

The Orion - 15 front element is well recessed in the mount, and any hood would cause vignetting problems. I find this lens is not particularly prone to flare anyway, and I've had mine for nearly 40yrs, used it on Fed, Leica,Canon7 and now Bessa R2 with bayonet adaptor. It was one of my favourite lenses on my leica CL.
