Wanted a 41mm Filter To Fit Summarit

I am looking for a 41mm filter to fit a 50 1.5 Summarit.
Preferably a filter UV or SL with a thread at front too. (With a filter at front I can use a hood).
The Leica filters don't have a front thread. When using a Summarit a hood is almost compulsary.

thanks

Jon

The proper rectangular hood clamps on the lens with the E41 filter in place. Camera-quest sells a round screw-in one, but it intrudes a little in the M camera VF and blocks a significant portion of a screwmount VF.

I paid $150 for a very nice shade for my Summarit and consider it well spent. There are cut outs so all you see is an edge thru the VF. It does a better job than the screw in one.

Sam at Classic Connection keeps a lot of this stuff, not cheap but honest. I don`t mess with E-bay ever. Usually he will have a selection and describe condition over the phone. He ships fast.

I have a push-on SL filter for the Summarit, and a threaded 41mm yellow/green; they're both for the Summarit, Leica brand, in their original box. I used to have a Summarit.

Let me know.

I went with a Series VI adapter for my Summarit, and the vented series VI combo filter holder/vented shade. Tiffen #611 filter adapter, I think.

I'm getting a 41 to 43mm step-up ring in order to access the more easily available 43mm filters and hoods.
