VC 35mm viewfinder on leica III

I get a VC 35mm veiwfinder (as in the photo), hoping it could be fit on my black III. Unfortunately, it is too tight to put it into the hot shoe of III. But it is very easy to be mounted on my another IIIf. It seems that hot shoe of III and IIIf have just a litttle differenct size.

So guys, what is your viewfinder on leica II or III?

There's just a lot of camera-to-camera variation in the size of the acessory show on Leica III's, especially the earlier ones.

File on either the finder, or the shoe. You'll need decent needle files for the latter, and a good screwdriver to remove it.

The SBOOI 50mm finder fits my IIIa perfectly.

You are right. It seems that earlier III have the variations, especailly my III is the 1933 version.

My SBOOI and Imarect work on both my IIIa and my IIIf RD. Haven't tried any of the VC finders.

Had the same problem. On mine, it appeared that the shoe was not wide enough by a very small amount. Rather then file the shoe or the finder, I used a pair of retaining ring pliers to spread the shoe just a tad. It worked fine.
