RF adjustment on ZI

For those of you that own a ZI body or those that have looked into the issue, is there a simple means (without poping off the top cover) of user adjustment for the RF in case it ever goes out of alignment like there is on a Leica body? I know the CV bodies are a PIA but my understanding is that the ZI has a diiferent RF module. One thing I like about the Leicas is the ability to tweak the RF if it ever goes out of adjustment without having to ship it out for repair.

How do you do it on a Leica? I'm pretty handy but if it's surgery I'd be afraid of making matters worse.

adjusting the canon p is simple. the m3 looks much the same.

i don't think the zi has a simple adjustment.

maybe huck might know.

Distance focus adjustment is easy on Leica Ms by simply turning the slotted screw at the center of the cam roller. Vertical adjustment is easy on any pre M4-P by turning the screw revealed behind the slotted screw cap near the frame line illuminator window. The M4-P and beyond need a special tool to do the vertical adj.

Sorry, Joe, I don't know. I have, however, gotten a lot of answers by e-mailign info@zeissikon.com. If Erland Pettersson at hasselblad doesn't have the answer, he is normally able to put me in touch with someone on the technical staff at Carl Zeiss who does. I'm sure that he would do the same for you. He always responds very promptly within the constraints of normal business hours & the difference in time zones.

good luck with it.

Huck
