Steinheil Quinon 50/2

Wow, the lens is here! Sonnar design, made for Leica.

Only 213 grams, light compared to the 290 grams for the Rigid Summicron. That includes M adapter. Small too: 41mm length and almost 52mm max. diameter. Diameter of the front ring is 41mm outside. The metal lenscap is the same diameter and screws inside, a thread of a little over 36mm. The markname ring is in front of that thread!
Luckily my Leitz 12585 hood fits over the 41mm front ring. Easily falls off though!

Strange thing about this lens is the close focussing. Rangefinder coupled down to a little under a meter, uncoupled down to 60cm! The ring turns the other way around: infinity is to the far right. That takes some getting used to!

Aperture is from left to right as usual, but the clickstops are at logarithmic distance, not at equal distances like with Leitz or Canon.

Attached some pics.

can't wait to use it!

Rob

Rob, it looks like a beauty. I passed on one of these because the price went way too high ... at least in my opinion.
I have the Steinheil 85/2.8 and have been very pleased with the results.

I found THIS SITE with a review on the Quinon. Unfortunately it is in Japanese.

Steinheil Quinon 50mm F2 L mount
Being to think, that this lens, well enough it is rare, it does, but being to be the lens whose information is little even excessively either the fact that it is picked up to also the classic camera magazine, "Leica lens I&II of the world" and the "camera classic" etc. without, it does. Being the rarity where also it is unusual, is outrageous to happen to see in the market? Or in the magazine and the like introduction being the ball which does not have the extent feature which is not either the times when it minds? Don't you think? it is the ball whose puzzle is many. The actually place how it probably is what.

オルソスティグマット similar ahead, I did not accumulate Stein heil being to like the lens, when knowing the existence of this ball, already wanting wanting. Being to be possible, to procure from contingent thing, it does, but both the helicoid and the focusing ring and the ぐ and others which cannot practical possibility we became firm, with special care procured in spite in the moistureproof warehouse the ず - the っ being you slept, it does, but before going to the latest summer vacation travelling, you obtain, well the っ! Putting out to the っ and the repair house, OH to have doing, because it could have putting in rather good state, being to become the latest rise, it does.

Well, it is appearance design, but there is no very feature focus lever, but the design which is common with オルソスティグマット under it becomes hugely, small inclination. With the lens of the large texture the front ball may be taken surely, as for coating thin blue purple system. Naturally, because distance it is linked at Leica, you use and as for the selfishness there is no something to say. With M type distance it is linked up to only approximately 1 m, but it means that with distance non-linkage shortest photographing distance is to 60cm.
(There is indication from the reader of HP, corrects the above-mentioned part. When distance it is linked to 70cm, we wrote in the past. Excuse it was not)
The filter, doing the form of ズミタール type of ライツ being to increase, considerably it is special, but when it tries attaching hood IROOA of ラ イ ツ to trial, being there is no groove where stopper is caught it does, but it was settled exactly. This oven it is being to match well, it does.

It is the essential being taken, but when if anything with personal opinion being similar to ズミクロン, you think as the る. Simply, as for ズミクロン compared to depth of the gradation which will be been moist with weakness with like the gourd, there is also a place where it is similar to オルソスティグマット. Being to be low (coating it is to place contrast?) You think that, it is faced to monochrome photographing.
In opening the vicinity being アヤシイ well enough, it does, but when it squeezes, sharp the line is thin gradually you show. It spreads in opening, ノクトン and ズミルックス the extent which does not become comparison being to be gentle,, but because a little white part does the ほ わ - is with, as for atmosphere you think that it is good.
With personal opinion, raising with work example, most end, the photograph of the Nara Higasioozi's deer, being in the rain to take, it does, but you think that the being taken of that photograph is everything of this lens.

First you wrote, but in the market without happening to see excessively, it is the lens which is not the times when it is picked up with also the sushi and the magazine and the like, but I think that it is the inscription ball which hides. When there is an opportunity, please try using by all means.

The Google translator almost makes sense. Have you tried it?

Rob: Beauty! I'm looking forward to seeing results and your impressions. The Steinheil Cassar 50/2.8 on my Tower 51 is tiny; I know it's a slower lens, different design, etc., but still it's very small and a great performer.
