bad day all round

this is a whine, plain & simple.
i realize my bad day is nothing compared to the real worlds's problems, but sugar is tired of listening to me.

work sucks but yes, i do still have a job, so i can live with it.

the zeiss has to go back to popflash cause the rf is way out at infinity.
i tried it again today but focussing on a point waaaaay off in the distance and it's off.
sure i have a few other cameras i can use but this was a new toy...

the m3 did not show today. i didn't really think it would but a guy can hope.
same with the 50/1.2

ok, that's it!
please don't leave me nasty posts about how spoiled rotten i am.
i am already aware of that and it did not stop me from posting this.

joe

Joe: My day was uneventful until mid-afternoon, when all hell broke loose. Well, a couple of issues got dumped in my lap, one of which is really the result of a sales rep who is a PITA with a capital P-I-T-A. So tonight was not "have a good but cheap red" night, but big friggin pitcher of margarita night, washed down with comedy night on CBC. I'm feeling better now.

Shoot with a P tomorrow. Life is good.

Sorry to hear about the Zeiss Joe. Nothing worse then getting something new and finding out something is wrong with it. Look on the bright side, you have other things to look forward to, the M3 and the 50, and the Zeiss will be replaced or repaired.

I feel your Pain.

The S3-2000 came in. Took off early (had extra hours from before in the week) to open it up and play with it. The UPS box was big enough for the Camera box and Boxed Case.

Opened it up, no case. It's on the invoice. Shipped 1 of 1. No case. Sunday I'll give them a call, either send the case or take the camera back. I'm not using this one in an old S2 case with a Notch cut out for the Self-Timer.

And everyone will be pleased to hear that I will not be shooting with it Nude.

Tough news - after all the anticipation etc. this has to be a sucky letdown.

Please don't read any of the "Puts" thread tonight!

There's not many problems a decent bottle of wine, a fridge full of film, and a free Saturday won't fix. I've diagnosed myself with women-stress and a coming week of car repairs. The prescription? 1 bottle 2004 Lange pinot noir, sleep til there's four digits on the clock, then follow with an afternoon of Canonet shooting with HP5+. Ahh, the stress is lifting already.. Oh nope, that's my glass.. and down the hatch we go

But seriously Joe.. all we really need are the love of friends and family (RFF friends count!). Count yourself a lucky man/woman if you have that. Have a better day tomorrow!

I shall post my rant here, too. Apparently my money order hasn't gotten to KEH yet...I sent it Priority on Monday. So now I'm worried that it isn't going to get there and I'm going to have actually, for the first time, do the whole lost mail thing. Sucks.

Joe, no snarky comments from me. I know the feeling of the "pile on", and I'm particularly regretful that the Z-I has to go back. But with a bit of luck, it'll be turned
over to some well-trained techs who will hand-adjust the rangefinder, and you may
wind up with the most diligently QC'd Z-I out there.

I am a long way from being a f****** Pollyanna, so these are not empty platitudes from some grinning fool. They're from a frowning fool...

Remember Marty Feldman in "Young Frankenstein": "Could be worse...could be raining".

was I snarky? I was only teasing...I taught grade 8's all day, they can warp your sense of what is polite. Sorry Joe, no hard feelings?

i love it all!

i do wish the camera was easy to adjust - like my p is - but i hate to mess with brand new!!

i'll play with it tomorrow and then get hold of tony to see what to do.
what i really hate is that thr rf is out in the first place and if it is a common thing then all those leica guys are gonna start yelling, 'see, we told ya!!'

wait a minute...i'm gonna be a leica guy again soon.

i feel a bout of schitzophrenia comin' on...

no you dont!...
yes, i do.

damn!

Chris, sorry, man I wasn't directing that "snarky' bit at you or anyone in particular.
I just wanted Joe to know I'd be going easy this time. Sometimes I get a little agitated, especially when I get flamed for something I never said.

Smiles all 'round--'cept me; don't like to smile 'cause it hurts my cheeks...
