HU 135/4.5 Hektor on Ebay

I don't see any reason for the lack of bids, perhaps someone else does? I'd be tempted but I won a uncoated Elmar earlier today.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA%3AIT&rd=1

No connection to the seller, etc.

Well, bidder has low feedback, and a negative + a $20 "standard" shipping charge. I took both into consideration, with a low bid. I don't think the lens is particularly well thought of, and it is described as having marks on the glass. All in all, not a tempting auction. I don't have a 135 Leica, although I do have good 135 glass from Canon, etc.
Don't expect to win, but you never know with eBoy-o-boy.

Ah, I didn't notice the shipping. That would have stopped me.

Good luck!

Well, I just factor it in on the bid. It is a really stupid stunt to quote such a high price for shipping a lens, IMHO. Most bidders are turned off, as I was, also. It just gets reflected in a poor return, and not much action. With priority mail at $4.05, basic, it couldn't cost much over $7.00 tops to ship.

Remember insurance, though...that can be high depending on how much the thing is worth. I don't see it above $9, though, even with a decently high amount of insurance on it.

The 135mm f/4.5 Hektor is a VERY much underrated lens..... far better than many seem to think it is. I have owned two coated ones (a black model and a chrome model) for awhile and today I got an uncoated one. Obviously I think they're worth having.

Just developed and scanned my first shots from a 135/4 M Hektor tonight. Actually, it's quite a nifty lens. Here's a sample: (unmanipulated except for sizing)

Nick, it looks really nice ... sharp and good OOF.

Nick, that's a nice example of what a Hektor can do. I like the OOF areas and it also shows good sharpness and contrast.

SSSHHHHHH..... that's no way to talk about something not yet sold. Remember what happened to the P's when everybody started talking. I was starting to think I might like owning this one.

Well, I don't want to hijack this thread but there is no need for the bay. Soon I will have two 135's as well as two brightine finders. I want to sell one of each: a very good and clean Hektor and an amazing clean Leitz brightline finder in box.
Alas only a rear cap on this lens.
I am thinking of US$ 80 for each. Is that OK?

Otherwise make me an offer.

No oner will be dissapointed with a clean 135MM Hektor.Leitz/Leica made a great many of them which, I suspect, is the reason they do not bring a high price on E***. I use the 125MM hektor to take pictures of flowers as well as some portraits. The results are as good as I could ever want.
If you like the focal length, invest in one. They are the true Leica Bargain.

the listing says that it doesn't come with a front lens cap, yet the picture shows one.

stock photo? that always makes me nervous.
