Good Deal On Canon P + 50mm 1.8 and Flash?
Hi,
I am new to the forum but I have been viewing it without participating for a while. I was browsing ebay for a Canon P as I have been in the market for one for quite a while. I was wondering what you guys think about this camera and lens. I dont care about the flash.
Is this a good price. Thanks for your help and yes this is my 1st post!

that's not too bad for what you are getting.
if you have no use for the flash then you could sell it.
the same with the case, i sold mine to lower the cost of one of my canons.

That's about what the P goes for on eBay with a lens and case.
KEH.com sells just the body for $379.00. Now that I've said that the P at KEH will probably be gone first thing tomorrow morning. I was thinking of buying it, but another VI-L came along instead.

Wondering if someone would help me out give me a price breakdown of all the items in the auction.
Camera is worth?
Lens?
Flash?
Case?
Thanks,
and do you think I would be better off buying the one from KEH?

Looks in very good condition but it's got that small knurled chrome ring around the rangefinder window missing.
ps
Anybody got instructions for the other type of Canon 'rangefinder' flashgun - the V model? Thx in advance.

Airds,
Thanks for pointing that out...Do you know if it could cause more problems with the RF Window? Or is it only cosmetic?

The lens "cleaning marks" look nasty on the photo. You'd have quite a bit of difficulty selling that lens for $100.
Looking at the rest of the stuff he's selling, looks like most of them have overpriced BIN prices. He also uses grades his equipment very liberally.

I agree. Someone should snap up that $189 Canon 7.

Probably ain't goin to happen.
The Canon 7 is the next generation of Canon rangefinders. It has a larger top cover to house the light meter and has modern projected viewfinder lines, which are switchable by a dial.
I believe the vf lines are 35, 50, 85/100 and 135.

Flipflop, more info on the 7 can be found here: http://cameraquest.com/canon7sz.htm and here: http://www.canon.com/camera-museum/c...ta/1961_7.html I'll also add that the KEH bargain grade equipment I've bought is in better shape than most ebay "minty" sales.

I'd be tempted by the 'ugly' one myself. Costs about as much as a filter for a Leica lens. But then there's that 100/2!
