Photo opportunities in Andalucia ?

Hiya

I'll be spending a few days in various Andalucian cities next week (Sevilla, Cadiz, Cordoba, maybe Malaga and Granada as well if time permits) and I was wondering if any of you had any tip to share about potential photo opportunities there. Okay, I'm aware of the major grand tourist attractions, which I'll duly pay a visit to, but my photographic interests lie rather in the mundane -- people going about their everyday lives, essentially. (Check out my website to get an idea). Any place particularly worth visiting with an RF camera in the above-mentionned cities? Street markets, busy cafes, lively neighborhoods, jazz clubs, and the like... Any suggestion would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.

For what it's worth, my gear for the trip will consist of two Bessa bodies, three lenses (28mm, 35mm and 50mm), and 20 rolls of Tri-X.

My experience with Malaga was very limited... but not the one from Granada. Oscar (taffer) is right: the Granada quarter along the Guadalquivir (I think that's the river that runs across the town) is a dream: think Buñuel, HCB kinda faces, Gene Smith "guardias civiles"... you get the picture.

Faces! A long lens will come in handy. Spaniards are as sensitive as any human being about having their picture taken (in Latin America they simply don't care, and at times they'll invite you to photograph them), so a big smile is in order. There are towns along the Costa del Sol you may want to check out (just skip Torremolinos, a real tourist trap), like Nerja (which does have its "tourist-trap-ish" places).

Never went to Sevilla or Cordoba, so I hope Beniliam's input comes in handy. He may know something or have some experience.

If you could swing over to Ronda, which is inland, you'd get breathtaking views from a very tall bridge above a river. But I understand you may not have time enough...

One more vote for Ronda. You'll think of our words when you get there.

In Granada, go to the hills. Your way there will lead you through narrow winding cobblestone alleys (they wind *vertically* as well as horizontally; it's a bumpy trip!) flanked by whitewashed, primitive-looking 1-story stone houses and potted plants. Once you get to the hills, watch out for the little caves, some of which are inhabited by people. As long as you don't poke your lens right into their homes, I think you'll do fine.

Thanks Oscar. I've been to Spain a number of times but I've never tried the Cruzcampo. I'll have one or three, this time!
