Leica Minilux lens cover

From time to time the lens cover on my Minilux doesn't quite get out of the way fast enough when I switch it on, and the front of the lens jams against the back of the lens cover. It's all stuck: half way open.

A quick off/on always solves the problem.

Does anybody else have this problem? And is there a permanent solution?

Mine did that, and a message appeared in the LCD indicating an electronic problem. I had it repaired (under warranty, fortunately) and there were no more problems.

Thank you. Mine's about eight to ten years old - so no warranty. Maybe I'll pay if I get around to it.

My Minilux did the same whenever it sat in a cupboard for a couple of months. When I used it regularly, everything worked normal. I attributed it to some dust in the mechanism.

Yes, thank you. I've used it every day this past week with no problems at all - and it's raining all the time.
