Digital Leica M8 / M8.2 / M9 / M-E /Mono / M10 aka "M" Discussions about the Leica M8 /M 8.2 / M9 / M9-P/ M-E / M Monochrom / M10 aka "M": Leica digital M mount rangefinder cameras. Naming the new digital M the "Leica M" is VERY unfortunate as it will only confuse newbies with other Leica M cameras of the the past. Happily there is room for confusion with only the past 59 years of Leica M production ... since Leica introduced the Leica M system in 1953. All Hail for the Leica Marketing Department learning Leica M history!

Cheers Jim! I used the Summilux 50mm ASPH for this (wide open), my one and only lens (so far).

Worth noting, that last two were taking in almost total darkness. This camera is like night vision.

Still waiting on filters. Been love the results without. I have a red, orange, yellow and green coming soon I hope. I have some but they are pretty beat and really large 55/58mm and I'm not so sure if I can find them.

Thank you -- my niece and her husband make very pretty kids. The trick was to catch them moving slow enough :-)

I like the MM, but I'm such a film geek I won't really mind sending it back. However I am starting to get the urge to have an M again -- perhaps an M7. That's why I've kept my M-mount lenses, just in case

Thanks Mike...

I'm an old film guy to. Went out kicking and screaming. Downsized the living arrangements some years back. Let go of the blads and the darkroom (miss the experience for sure). But I love this camera. The only small format digital B&W I have been happy with to this point.

Oh Mike I have a show coming up in April (will post info when I have it all nailed down) but here are some of the images that may wind up in the exhibit.

Some very nice photographs - portraits and candids!
If you have a website or share more photographs on the web elsewhere, please share!

I like particularly your eye for juxtaposed candids with street art, signs and posters, etc …

A few shots from last night's festivities. All shot at between ISO 1000-2000. I think I'm starting to get used to this camera!
